Burger King and Crispin Porter & Bogusky Part Ways

After a fruitful +7 year partnership that was built on groundbreaking work like Subservient Chicken and the Whopper Sacrifice Burger King and Crispin Porter & Bogusky (an MDC Partners company) are parting ways.

The news comes after major changes at Burger King with the departure of Ms. Natalia Franco who was the VP-Global Chief Marketing Officer just 9 months after she joined the firm.

This came at the same time as a change in Burger King’s global brand structure and their North American marketing structure.  Over the last 3 years according to Kantar Media in an article in Ad Age Burger King has been slightly pulling back on it’s marketing spending $301 million in 2010 compared with $327 million in 2008.

This is a major loss for the firm as Burger King had been one of their largest clients and I imagine that they have a line of agencies around the block chomping at the bit for this piece of business.
