Gionee A1 Lite
After the great success of Gionee A1 Plus, the company has launched A1 Lite as their next gadget in India on 9th August. Its 20MP selfie camera and 4,000mAh battery is likely to compete with the already existing models – the Moto G5 Plus and Xiomi Redmi Note 4. It is considered as a younger brother of Gionee A1 and A1 Plus and expected to hit the retail stores from 10th August, 2017 for Rs. 14,999.
In India Gionee has tied a deal with Airtel and PayTm with some attractive offers. The existing or new Airtel Customers will get an additional 10GB data per month for successive 6 months on a data recharge of 1GB or above. 2 PayTm cashback voucher codes of INR 250 will be given on purchase of INR 350 on PayTm mall, with every product bought.
The Director, Business Intelligence and Planning, Gionee India mentioned the importance of Indian market for them on the launch of the product. They are focusing on customizing products for Indian customers, trying to understand the consumer behavior and providing an enhanced user experience. He believes that A1 Lite will be the next game changer as it delivers professional quality images and videos, and a trendy design. Gionee A1 Lite will be available in all the major retail stores as well as online.
Gionee has a market share of 6 per cent in the India’s domestic smartphone market. It has presence over 42,000 retail outlets in 2,200 cities. The company has invested in 555 exclusive service stations, planning to extend it to 600. This enhances their after sales relationships with the customers.
Gionee A1 Lite Specifications
Gionee A1 Lite has a 5.3 inch 720p HD display with an internal storage of 32GB, expandable upto 256GB. It also has a rear mounted fingerprint sensor which will unlock the screen in 0.3 seconds. The smartphone will last up to 30 hours with a 4,000mAh battery, as claimed by Gionee. There is an octacore MediaTek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 3GB RAM.
The body is primarily built of metal having a 2.5D glass on the front enhancing the in-hand feel. Gionee A1 Lite comes with a 20MP front camera and a 13MP rear camera. It is customized to spread the light on the faces more evenly with a selfie flash in the front. The Director also mentioned that there is a need to provide superior photography capabilities with the growing demand for high quality smartphones in India.
Gionee A1 Lite has Amigo 4.0 UI based on Android 7.0 Nougat supporting dual-SIM 4G VoLTE connectivity.
Early Verdict
A1 Lite will be available on retail stores unlike the Xiomi Redmi Note 4 and the Moto G5 Plus which can only be purchased online. The smartphone is expected to compete with Nokia 5, which will be launched in India for Rs. 12,899 and will also be present in offline stores.
